Surrounded by botanic style gardens and overlooking the surrounding Murray River wetlands, Splitters Creek house is a new home cleverly arranged for adaptive living. This family home is zoned for a seamless transition between intimate family spaces and large-scale entertaining zones. The heart of the home is the central dining room and sunken living, with soaring ceilings and large glazed walls opening to both the pool terrace to the north and the distant views across wetlands to the south. The retention of a 4-metre fireplace from the previous home was integral to keep the spirit of the client’s previous house and memories.
Designed to sit proudly in the landscape, the main living wing is constructed with soft earthy brick tones and incorporates deep fascias for solar protection and strong linear stepped fascias surround the main wing. The bedroom wing clad in silvertop ash sits in contrast to the main wing of the house.
