Block House

  • Category House
  • Year 2019
  • Location St Kilda, VIC

Set within a 12m-wide property, this four bedroom family house is designed around a series of double storey parallel walls, juxtaposed with extensive glazing. The majority of the house is contained between the two predominant walls connected by concrete breeze block screens at either end. The blade walls contain the entry, upper hallway and staircase.

Connection to the outdoors is carefully considered to maximise impact and atmosphere from all parts of the house. A glazed double height void between the back living room and breeze block screen creates a dynamic light filled space that also enjoys a full width view of the adjacent pool.
